Windows media player question

Anybody know how to disable the media player from automatically coming up when booting up the computer? Ever since I did a Windows upgrade awhile ago, it's started doing that, and I can't find anywhere to change that setting. It's a real nuisance

I know yer out there....I can hear ya breathing.
let me rephrase the question.
Due to what I'm sure is a conspiracy on the part of the liberalists that manage the affairs of the internet, I have come upon an issue that I feel is infringing on my right to choose. After falling prey to auto-update features built into Windows (it's all spy-ware, I'm sure), I now have Windows Media Player auto-enabling itself everytime I turn on my computer. I'm sure it's monitering my every move. I'd like to disable this feature, if I can without having "THEM" come looking for me
Any ideas?

Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG in the box, click ok. Two tabs at the end, Services and Startup. Click on them, its in one of those, uncheck the box next to media player.

If that doesn't work, let me know, it could be imbedded in the registry.

seems to have worked, but I got a little pop-up window when I re-booted telling me that I have modified the config settings blah-blah blah. I'll see if I get it again next time. But at least I didn't have the media player come up
