Mercedes Vito - front wheel drive?

Hi, my uncle back home bought a Mercedes Vito

Its a 2.3L CDi diesel, anyways I assumed its a RWD like the rest of the MBs

Here is a pic of a MB Vito engine bay. Looks like a FWD setup, hmm is the tranny mounted longitudnally?

Vitos have a bad reputation. Made in Spain, not in Germany. Nothing like the great reputation of the other MB vans like the Sprinters and their earlier incarnations. The Vito is more like the old MB100.

Hello,
The Vito and A-class are both Front wheel drive. The early Vitos were horrible in terms of build and durability.
Have a good week

NOOO! front wheel drive NOOOO!!!! I guess it saved some space and assembly costs. I have heard some bad reviews of the Vitos as well. If I had the money to buy a van, Id go with the Spriner. Fedex as well as UPS guys/gals are running around in Sprinters these days.
