I've used cheap ones, and I have used expensive ones....quite honestly they all work the same, if you replace them once a year.....

Thats my opinion for what its worth.........18 cars and over 1,000,000 miles in last 27 years.....

If I did a blind test I would not notice the differences between most of them...

That's my thinking too. But cummon, there has to be something better than the $2.99 ANCO refill!

I guess some may last longer than others......but I really suspect....and keep in mind I have no proof....that like oil filters many of these are made by a couple places...likely india.

if you do the change them every fall, you likely won't see a difference....if you wait till metal is scraping glass, then its anyones best guess.

Point is any of them work like crap when they wear and lose the square edge....thats why I replace them every fall....regardless.....and I don't go for the pricey ones anymore......I never saw any difference.

Thats my personal unscientific opinion.

Most of the claims out there are marketing Hype.......to justify higher profit margins.

I should make a qualified exemption to that.....

the gaited ( have the rubber boots on the arms) do help if you live in a place that sees frequent snow or you drive in freezing rain frequently (I.E. the great white north)...where you would get ice buid up which prevents it working well.....

They look like hell in the summer but do help in the winter.

Actually, I've had a better experience with the Anco than the Bosch microedge from the auto parts store. This has been discussed before, and someone said the Bosch wipers from Fastlane are different that the McParts version and much better. So you might want to give Phil a call.

I've had the Piaa blade on the 124 for a couple of years now and it's the first blade that does seem to make a difference. It's made of silicone and you treat the windshield with a Rainex type of coating. For the rainy Northwest they work great, where you are Kuan I'm not sure. They weren't cheap if that makes you feel better .

I was not happy with my wiper, it was always smearing and never really getting the windsheild really clear. I broke down and went to the dealer and got a $10 insert from them. That price also included installation where they also bent and straightened the clips the insert slides into. Results were very good.

The only thing I have to offer is the suggestion to definately use Rainex, which I know you alread do.

Other than that, do stay away from the harder material blades that are supposed to last longer. The harder the rubber, the greater chance that they'll scrape the glass.

Also get in the habit of wiping the blade down with a slightly wet paper towel at the gas station during each fill-up. This will dramatically increase effectiveness by removing little particles of dirt and grease, lessen wear on the windshield, and increase longevity.

I get my blades from the dealer because the 124's single blade is so long, I can't find it at any typical parts store.
