1992 300SE Advice

I found a 1992 300SE with 75000 miles for 9000, Its a one owner and in excellent condition. I have a 1990 with 95,000 miles on it but want to update. Im woundering if the 92/93 are just as easy to fix and reliable as the older models 91 and older. Any advice would be great.

Don't know that model myself. But from what I've heard around here, they're not a do-it-yourself car like the W126's.

anybody else?

Maybe if you re-worded your query in a some political format, you'd get more response. Somehow tie-in the Iraq conflict, or the presidential debates, or something like that.

Sixto is very knowledgeable on both the W126 and W140 since he owns them both. However, I'm not sure you will find him here. Consider posting in the tech forum.

Stick with the W126. W140's can be a nightmare. Look in the Technical section of this board.

Make sure the evap core is taken care of, $3k fix and every W140 goes through it at least once.

A W140 is a great car and I want one, but I know all to well how expensive and complicated they are. I would recomend a late 90's S320, with W140's the newer the better. They sorted the cars out better in the last part of their production run.
