Talk about bad laws. Here's a particularly lame one.

Her husband, Carlos, never contested the divorce, and the court commissioner approved it in October. But the divorce papers failed to note that Hughes was pregnant, and when the judge found out, he rescinded the divorce.

Only thing worse would be going after him for child support too when its not even his brat.

More procedural than anything else I suspect. The divorce petition has to state whether she was pregnant. They didn't and the judge unwound it. I wonder who tipped off the judge though.

Apparently she was real pregnant when she showed up in court, and the judge noted it was not in the divorce papers. The media is making a big stink, but the judge is doing the right thing. The court has an interest in the child. In addition, the women is pregnant by another man, and her husband has a right to contest being sruck with child support as part of the case.

there generally is the presumption that a child born in wedlock is of the marrage and child support would probably be ordered.

Which is in itself a miscarriage of justice....woman screws around, gets knocked up.....and the Guy she screwed around on has to pay for her infidelity.....for 18 years.
