Clocks and Glocks

Maybe I should say "Time and A Gun?" Since my rant post got nixed, I've seen a few folks suggesting guns and watches as topics -- appropriate, I think, as they are often fine mechanical achievements, like Mercedes. The precision machinery, intricacy of design, quality construction, and singularity of purpose are often shared by timepieces and firearms. Maybe it's a guy thing... Care to share what you've got? Anyone have the same?

I've got a Rolex Submariner for daily wear and a Patek for dress occasions.

Beretta Silver Pigeon II Sporting for skeet/clays and a Heckler & Koch P7M13 for the nightstand

John

Couple of nice 18thct. Fusee Brackets, a 17thcent.Lantern,several nice tallcases, lost count of the carriage clocks and a Morbier or 2.

Whole bunch of watches I've forgotten about except the Harwood I wear daily.

For skeet I favor either my F.N. Browning auto-5 or a nice field grade Darne sliding breech side by side in full/modified Bbls.

I'm always amazed at what some will spend on a watch.
But hey, everybody needs a hobby

In my case, the Patek was passed down (bought in 1952). Watches, carefully selected, aren't such a bad investment. I've bought a few Daytonas and a Lange & Sohne overseas and sold them here with good success.

Hadn't really thought of them from an investment perspective. That makes more sense. But I suppose you have to know your stuff, like any kind of speculative investment.

I hear you there My $35 Timex digital watch has been working flawlessly for 10 years now...I've needed to replace the band a few times and the battery twice, but it's amazing how much abuse it'll take.

As to firepower, $$ hasn't allowed me to start assembling an armory...YET. I need to take a safety course at some point and try to learn more about 'em in general...

i have a few nice watches that i never wear. they bug me. the metal band models pull my arm hair and the leather band ones get stuck too high on my wrist. i either look at my phone clock or bum the time offa ona u guys what wears a watch.

as far as guns go, my preference varies. right now my sako TRG21 is my favorite. it is capable of putting ten rounds through the same ragged hole at 100+ meters. the claim is that it shoots .25 minute of angle. i believe it.

i have my eye on a mauser that may out shoot the TRG, we'll see.

I've got that exact same Beretta with 29.5 inch barrels and Sub on my wrist. A few other guns too, but nothing too special.

Well lift my leg, what a coincidence.

Omega watch and many guns but if since were talking sissy guns I guess my Browning 30in Full/Full spraypainted white superimposed would work.

Don't even get me started with panzy Rolex crap. If i didn't give mine away I would've spray painted that too.

Maybe...

Maybe this ought to be called the "don't drop by my place unannounced" thread... Yikes!

El Presidente -- I think I remember you used to shoot at PG County, is that right?

For those of you who like watches, I've had good experience with these folks and mostly just enjoy browsing the site (which is updated every few days):
