I watched that grey 3 liter Jag hunt down but fail to pass the red Austin A35... what a hoot to see older cars driven that way, power sliding and scaring the heck out of folks. Quite a program they have.....

Victory By Design... excellent! de Cadenet may not be the best driver, historically, but he tells a good story. And it's got to be a blast to drive all that iron....

Watched it too!

Nice to know that some folks take their trailer queens out and actually run 'em hard...the way cars are meant to be driven!

Takes some serious play money to keep up that sort of hobby though...can't imagine buying a pricey vintage race car only to run the risk of destroying it in the process!

Im not sure if any of you guys saw it, but someone lost control and rolled their vintage sedan in the race.. not sure what or who it was, but I could feel the frustration eminating through the TV.... They have VERY strict rules as far as driving goes... if you hit, bump, tap etc... any other cars on the track you are automatically disqualified from the race and you cannont return in the following years race, if not for forever.

I also LOVE Fifith-Gear, used to read their magazine Top-gear as often as possible.... they cover ALOT of interesting stuff on that show. I also like Overhaulin.... wish good ol Chip Foose would overhaul some Benzes!!!

Actually, I'm not sure I'd want him touching a Benz...a slammed two-toned painted body shod with 19" alloys isn't my idea of what a Benz should look like!

And he'd probably toss the motor for some GM crate motor anyway!

He sticks to Detroit muscle...that's what he's best at doing...notice that he doesn't go NEAR rice?

Yeah thats very true, but Im all for creativity..... id like to see what he could to with an early 70's 280SEL 4.5.... he manages to customize cars rather tastefully without butchering their original designs... the silver Corvette Stingray he did being a perfect example.

He might throw in a GM or Ford powerplant, but from an aesthetical point of view I would find it VERY interesting to see how he customizes the car....
Maybe a super nice paint job (2-tone?) Custom wheels (maybe 17" inspired by the Mercedes "bundt" style alloys) larger brakes, a custom interior incorporating alcantara, a little more wood trim, and some chrome, and some sort of performance exhaust system...

The possibilities are endless with that guy! The final product may not be every MB enthusiasts cup of tea, but it certainly would be different!
