Im 20, and I tend to be an unusually resposible driver compared to the "stereotypical" young drivers out there..... Sure we all have our fun though at times.... nothing this extreme though! How fast did he NEED to be going!?!?!? what an IDIOT!!!!!! HOLY COW!!!!
I have test driven a handful of cars... most recently an 05 Jetta GLI, 03 Jetta GLS TDI, 05 Volvo S40 T-5, and a 2000 C230 Sport Kompressor (which I must say feels rather rough compared to its C280 counterpart!) and a 99 C43.
Ive been surpirsed that the sales reps. are more than willing to let me test drive cars... from friends experiences, they typically dont get a second look from a sales rep. when on a car lot.
I tend to hold myself rather professionally in certain social interactions, and countless people have been surprised to hear that am 20 (almost 21) after meeting me for the first time... i guess I give the impression that im older than I really am. BUT that still doesnt resolve my curiosity... when i hand a sales rep. my license and he or she sees my age I have to wonder whats running through their head.....


We're not ALL bad drivers!

My test drive in the "Black Magic" 05 Jetta GLI was a blast though- just like in their commercials! It lasted a good 45 minutes, must have put on somewhere around 25-30 miles on a Brand spankin new GLI.. i remember looking at the odometer and seeing a mere 2 miles on it before leaving the lot!

I learned how to drive stick on a test drive. I was 16, bored, and said my parents wanted me to pick out a car for myself, which of course was a lie

I'm only 21 myself and I've driven cars from a 1960's Volvo to a 2004 MB S600 to a Porsche 911 (930) turbo. Just because you are young doesn't mean you ARE a irresonsible driver.......but younger drivers are more LIKELY to be irresponsible. Nothing personal......

That wreck is pretty amazing....I wonder how he got the car airborne....I am guessing he hit the red gate which folded down into a ramp which ran the car up and over the 3-series and onto the other Holdens?

I think the best MB test drive I experienced was in 2000 at the Las Vegas COMDEX show..MBUSA and Michelin had rented an entire parking lot across from the convention center and turned it into a makeshift track with cones for accident avoidance, high speed turns, evasive maneuvers etc. and so it was quite entertaining.....it was just like Disneyland with lines for one of every MB car made in 2000. People were getting applause for who could go the fastest...or well in that case who could make the most noise with the tire sidewalls. I got my hands on a S600, and a CL500 and a SL500 that day....i figured I wouldn't be financially able to touch those for awhile so I made use of my limited time there before they took all the keys away at the end of the day.

The scariest test drive however was a 1998 Twin Turbo Lamborghini Diablo SV. Two wheel drive and 800hp with NO boost control.
