Anybody with experience changing a headgasket on a Chrysler V6?

I'm debating taking a mini-van in trade for some $ owed. It needs a headgasket(s). It is a 3 ltr. V6 with around 139k miles.

Question is, is would I need any special tools to remove/replace the heads?

On an Audi Fox I had years ago, I needed a special bit for the headbolts...did Mopar use special bolts too? Do I need to get new bolts, or can I re-use the old ones?

Anybody need a mini van, cheap?

Thanks for any insight!

-Larry

I'm sorry for bumping my own thread to the top, but I could really really use some feed back/opinions/options/a good joke/help.

Thanks! -Larry

Can't tell you about the head gasket, but if I recall the 3.0L Mitsubishi V6 is well-known for oil consumption, due to failed valve stem seals. If/when you get the van, and remove the head(s) I suggest you check the seals.

Best Regards,
Jim

Jim,
Thanks! .. at least that's a start.
I already have the Van in my front yard...It's just a matter of: If I want it, or not. In other words...Is it worth my while to replace the headgaskets and sell it to recoup my money. The owner doesn't recall if it burned alot of oil...She remembers having to add it, but it sounds as if she didn't have to constantly add it, so this could be good news as far as the seals are concerned. -thanks again,

-Larry
