what is with all this rain?

does anyone have a good climatic reason for this? global warming/cooling? i feel like i am living in seattle or something. there is so much rain that whole streets are turning into rivers from one gutter to the other. i had to take a detour this morning because the street was gone!

even socal weather IS bad right now....flooding everywhere and there was a waterspout at Palos Verdes which I believe hit land and it damaged a lamppost and sucked a burger right off of someone's Williams Sonoma grill

We've got that too! The La Conchita area is evacuated pending more slides due to the the last deadly slide a few weeks ago. Although we don't have any volcanic activity...that would be a nice change

As I read this thread my area is being pounded by a severe thunderstorm, and 2 tornados have touched down in my county (Yolo). This is far from typical weather....

Rarely ever get heavy heavy rain, tornaods!???

Currently thundering & lightning here in the Bay area of NorCal. A reminder of why we don't have the Weather Channel on cable in Hawaii.

Does anyone know what the water level in the Hoover Dam is ? We were there last fall and it was down about 90 feet from max. I have tried to get answers on the web, but no luck. For some reason the Hoover Dam just fastinates me.
