Local pharmacist Carter Clements was opening his drugstore when he was approached by a knife weilding man who demanded that the druggist give him all his Oxycontin. Well, the guy must have already been high on something. Clements is about 6'4' and 300 lbs. ! The druggist took the knife during the subsequent struggle and stabbed his would-be attacker. Then he SAT on the fool till the sheriff's deputies arrived. Rhine is 15 miles from the sheriff's office, so some time expired in this process. The would-be robber was taken to the hospital and treated, then jailed.

Now here's the cool part. I personally know this pharmacist. He lives right across the street from where my Dad lived and was a very good friend to him. He is a really good person and helps everyone he knows, except armed robbers! He drives an S500, has several classic Mercedes cars and a Mog to haul stuff around with. Just the kind of hero we need!!!

Glad to see it worked out. Years ago, a local pharmacy was being robbed by two gun wielding bad guys. Owner came out with his own piece. In the ensuing gunbattle, the pharmacist and one bad guy were killed (Pharmacist made the mistake of shooting the guy who was the lesser threat). Pharmacist was a great guy. I had known him pretty literally all my life. He and my father were sitting in the father's waiting room together when I was born. His son was born a few hours later.
In Ky we now have concealed carry. Guy was jogging thru local park when thug tried to rob him at gunpoint. Jogger pulls own gun and shoots badguy (who does live).
Years ago here in Cincinnati, we had another case. Two women were walking thru another park in town when bad guy with gun jumps out and takes them into secluded area in woods. Guy rapes one women. Finishes and moves to next woman. First woman gets up, finds big rock and bashes bad guy over the head. Then she takes pistol, sticks it in his ear (good for accuracy) and pulls trigger. Gun does not go off as badguy did not have round in chamber. Women procede to use same large rock to make a mess of badguy. Police come and take badguy to hospital. Strong case that people should take classes on proper handling of firearms.
