what's my 3-digit model number?

i'm new to this site. just bought a 1979 300sd. i see everyone using a 3-digit model number to specify their vehicle (e.g., 116, 124). does anyone know what mine is? thanks.

or known as a W116.....you will see it used both ways......it referrs to the chassis....and multiple modles share the W116 chassis designation.
