Anyone have a used laptop AC/DC cord?

Bleh, I need one. I left mine in a hotel. Anyone have one?

I use the same laptop both at my home and business offices, so I like to leave a transformer cord plugged in at each location. I found that there are quite a few modern appliances using the same cord, and thrift stores typically have several of these cords for cheap in their hardware sections--HTH

I would perhaps put an Ad in Craigslist and see what happens. Or of course Ebay if you can wait. My Dell recently started shorting from a herniated cable and I found a replacement from a third party for $20. Comparably, at Compusa the generic replacement was $70!

Depending on your laptop brand, even though the plug may fit with the generic power adapters those aren't designed to put 70w of power through them and will melt down fast. That obviously can damage the mainboard and void the warranty. It also doesn't have the filters that the OEM unit has.

...wait, I'm just referring to the long section of cord between the wall outlet and the AC/DC transformer, not the one from the transformer to the laptop. I'm currently at the biz office using the appropriated AC cord, and it's holding up fine. I think it was scavenged from an old HP printer w/external transformer.

Oh...if it's the AC only cable with the "peanut" shaped profile when looking at the plug that's $1.99 at radio shack. I was confused with the AC-DC title heading. If in fact the transformer went missing, then that's entirely different.
