Cool V12 powerd W126!!! 600SEC!!!

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1207387&posts=16&fid=12

Look! That is so cool! What a project though that requires some major talent and money. It probably under steers a bit because of the weight but the straight line power must be awsome! Not to mention the wheels are very very nice.

I wonder if one of the new bi turbo V12's would fit?

I think Renntech would build you pretty much any MB you would want with a nice checkbook Weren't they pumping 730HP out of the V12's in the W140's?

Yeah that site is full of annoying people. I just cruise it once a month or so and send new diesel owners over hear.

Yep a 7.3L Brabus V12 would fit in their without much trouble. I don't no the hp rating but I would think 600 or so without forced induction.

I would want that car with a sweet set of Brembo brakes and a 5sp manual. Throw on a set of super sticky Dunlops and I would be about as happy as someone could be.

Ohh the Vipers that would fall prey to my old SEC!

I bet that car cost $100k. If you start off with a clean 560SEC figure at least $15k. I think the Brabus V12 alone would cost $40k. Then you have to basicly rebuild and improve every system on the car. The suspension would have to be tuned maybe some rare and pricy AMG parts. A brake kit alone would probably cost $4k, not to mention $15k for body and interior. A 5sp manual does exist because a few rare super cars use that Brabus 12 with a stick so a box is out their. I would figure on a custom driveshaft might as well use a light weight one $$$. Also a custom diff and half shafts to handle the massive power $$$.

But it would be a sweet one of a kind car and a new CL600 or CL55 would cost $30k-$50k more so it isn't a bad deal in a sense if you could do it for $100k.

Beautiful car. The thread quickly digressed to a slug fest though.

V12 Project

My car cost me around $10K installed. Of course, labor is free for me. Roughly $7000-$8000 was the V12 engine, transmission, all computers, etc., about $2000 in other incidentals.

BTW, I sold my 119 engine and transmission as well as the install job making this project a wash.

I'm currently also working on a 1994 500CE Coupe with the M119 5.0 DOHC LH engine. I sold the original M104 engine and electronics from that vehicle even up making that project a wash as well.

PS,

I'm working on updating the building process of this V12 SEC....I've been so busy with work, etc., that I haven't had time.

However, I did take a ton of photos of the process.
