1980 500se?
Today I saw a nice Benz but I'm not sure what was wrong. It was a Euro spec car, 126 body and badged a 500SE. No problem so far but it had classic car plates which makes it (in Colorado) a 1980 at the latest.
Was there such a thing as a 1980 W126? |

The W126 was introduced in 1979 as a 1980 model, but first came to North America as a 1981 model.

1980 was the first year of the W126 in Europe. So since the 500SE is a euro car...
Is it for sale? It is a fast car and a nice ride.

Not only is the 500SE a very fast and desirable car, but a 1980 would have a simpler fuel injection system and a lower rear end than 1981+ cars. It may be the fastest 126. The euro 560SE (very rare) may be be faster; wish I could find the exact gearing and acceleration figures.
