Ugliest Cars

This car has to be by far, one of the ugliest I've ever seen, the 1980-1985 Cadillac Seville. It looks like a roach to me. Post pics of what kind of cars you think are ugly.

That's a great looking car, but I love most of Pininfarina's designs.

The ugliest car these days must be the H2 and 2nd the Mercedes M class.

PT Cruiser

Jeez, I can't get the picture to upload.

Car Talk had a feature last week about the top ten ugliest cars, it's a hoot. Can be seen at:

http://www.cartalk.com/content/features/uglycar/nominations.html#cruiser

Of the PT Cruiser, one guy said:

"It's disheartening when I see one with flames that are only PAINTED on."

and:

"Looks like something The Joker would be driving in a Batman movie."

The Toyota Scion:

"Is it full of clowns when you buy it?"

Honda Element:

"Nice box. Where's the car that came in it?"

Dodge Magnum:

"Looks like a hearse. Are caskets an option?"

:D

I don't agree about the Dodge Magnum.............that car ***** in the right color.

The Ugliest cars in my mind are the Citreons.............all of them with the exception of the Traction Avant.....that being the only good looking one.

Carleton Hughes 04-24-2005 06:40 PM

Citroens??you mean the ID,DS series no doubt, the ones that are a cross between a clam and a vacuum cleaner.

I rather think they are functionally elegant, certainly among the most comfortable cars I have driven, with a reliable and effective hydropneumatic suspension system.

Not all Citroens are ugly. I'd just love to snatch up a nice example of a 2CV. I don't know why everyone hates the element and Xb. While the cars are not pretty, they are awesomely functional. The first one to be built as a hybrid will be my next car.

Now the H2 - that monstrosity is the ultimate poseurmobile. As for the Asstek - I think those designers spent too much time reading comic books.

As for the prius, it may not win any pretty car awards, but my wallet sure loves mine!! :D

Man, I do have a perverse love affair with those French cars--Citroens especially. Renault Caravelle, Citroen 2CV, Traction Avant, DS cabriolet, Peugeot 505...ah, joie de' vivre.

The second one from the bottom, there is one of those rusting away in a front yard not too far from where I live. It doesn't look like it's moved in many years.

I know this thread is about ulgy cars but how about most beautiful cars?
My vote (in no order):
1.Citroen DS (love that car)
2. early 911 (pre-1974)
3. Porsche 911-993 variant
4. MB W124 and W126, W108
5. Alfa Giulia

Carleton Hughes 04-24-2005 11:58 PM

Oh b'jesus christ! The most beautiful car I've ever seen is a 1931 Minerva convertible sedan, with a 1912 Rolls-Royce London-Edinburgh open tourer a close second.

You guys are still crawling on the permafrost.http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...tured04_02.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...erva-lf-rs.jpg

Looks like about everyone hates this Toyota Scion xB thingie. Some sort of "Soviet Lego" car lol...

Thank you so much...glad you liked it. Click and Clack of Car Talk were an aquired taste for me, at first I thought they laughed too much but I dig 'em now big time. Who'd a thought NPR would score with guys from the dreaded liberal Massachsetts the way they have? It's the most listened to show on NPR.

BTW, did you know that Massachusetts, in spite of actively trying to undermine the institution of marriage have the highest rate of marriages that stay together of any state? Again, who'd a thought? :)
