Rip Off Parts Prices in Houston

Okay, So I call one of the Stealerships here in Houston to inquire about the price for the "Elbow" overflow piece that comes out of the top of the radiator on my 93 500E and 92 400E's. I needed to replace the one on the 500E. They tell me its $4.50 tax included. I had already looked up the price at all online parts plcaes and it was going to be no cheaper S/H included. So I go to another dealer, thinking that the price may be a couple of bucks higher max, but I save a few bucks on gas. I go in there and the guy hand me the part and the invoice prints over to the cashier. She tells me that'll be $11.72! I say "what?!" Let me see that. She says yes, this is the part. That's the price. I say lady, that part is no more than $4.50 at "X" Dealership and there's no way in hell I'm paying that.0 You canb keep it. So she yells at the parts guy, to take the part back, the guy said it was too expensive. Damn right it was. These guys are notorious for have extremely HIGH prices on parts. Thos epoor souls who have their car serviced there are getting jipped royally. Oh.....The dealership????
Mercedes Benz of Houston Greenway plaza. Avoid their parts department at ALL COSTS!!
Much better on the wallet at STAR and Sugarland ain't too bad

How bout this one... a brake hose for a 300D... $50 PER hose at the local dealer... saw em for like $18 at Performance Products, $21 or so at Fastlane...

1 Rear Muffler was $600 where I saw it for $200 online.

Triple the price at the dealer is not atypical.

The springs on the SDL are $156.00 apiece, with a favor, at the dealer.

Online, the cheapest price is $50.00 for the exact same part number.

Of course, I can't seem to achieve the proper ride height with the new springs, but, that is a different story altogether.
