People generally voted for the candidate they thought could best lead us through perilous times.
The vast majority vote along party lines, with little regard or cognizance of the other party’s worthiness beyond the supposition that “they” are wrong. Moreover many, perhaps even the majority prefer more of the same, no matter what that represents. The vote is typically decided by the whims of something like 5% to 10% of so-called swing voters. What is most telling is how dumbed down the party candidates behave, which is a true reflection of the party’s view of the public.

nice straw man. how do you get that from what i posted? i just don't think bush (either one) will be remembered as a particularly good president. many people think bush "conned" us into the war with the as yet unfounded claim of iraq possessing wmds and his repeated linking of the 9/11 attacks to iraq and saddam hussein. and when advisors projected the number of troops needed to actually make the war work "the conservatives" scoffed like the troop estimates were way out of line. two messy, bloody, unresolved war still going on years later those estimates are becoming reality. so much for con men....go ahead bhd, i'm sure you can make this sound like anything you want

I got that from personal observations in my life......the smartes people I have ever known were by a large margin NOT the smoothest talkers I have known....in fact I only know two extremely smart peoplke who were smooth talkers...a sharp minority of the smart crowd.

Clintons administration had arrived at the same conclusion....even John Kerry who you loved so well saw the info long befor eBush ever saw any of it and came to that conclusion......in fact have you or anyone been able to prove its not burried in the desert still?

Where is the Poison gas stocks he used and admitted to having go?...they haven't been handed over and they haven't been found...and no proof of destruction or any evidence of destruction exists?

Its the Democrats who are flip flopping on this...

I have a hard time defending Kerry. The guy didn't have a genuine moment in the whole campaign. He looked good in the first debate, but most of the time he came across like some bad salesman laughing lamely along with his intended marks' jokes.

The DVD "Going Upriver; the long war of JK" had some moments where I could relate to him as a man -- it was an intense time back around 1971 and he didn't shy away from standing up for his beliefs -- of course many hate him for exactly what he stood up for -- but no need to get into that.

Maybe it was all the years of semi or full on gold digging that made him such a wuss, I don't know. OTOH, I mistrust Bush just about as much. The needle on my BS detector guage starts pegging hard to the right every time he opens his mouth.

Bottom line for me in this thread of thinking, high I.Q. and genuine wisdom are not necessarily connected.

Who cares? Were we required to divulge the same information to Iraq? If you're looking for the most destructive arsenal of WMD's on the planet, look no further than your own backyard.

I don't trust anyone that would walk away from millions for a couple hundred thousand a year.

Let me rephrase this: I don't trust any politician, I just try to trust some a little more than others. I didn't start the thread to show who's smarter than who the title of the thread was just to stir the chit a little.

I had a solid 2.0 GPA in high school and did a little better in college, although I was in the average gpa range I know I'm making more money than 98% of them.

SO THERE

High IQ, Wisdom and a Silver tounge are the Trifecta exceptionaly few posses...and none of those are in politics..All politicians lack one of those three things....and its no secret Bush is not a silver tounge devil.

Clinton was a silver tounge devil with no intelligence and no wisdom...

Clinton not intelligent? Are you serious? I think you will have a very difficult time proving that one.

when does this guy ever "prove" anything? all he ever does that i have seen is reduce every statement he does not agree with to "liberal jargon", blame all the world's problems on "liberals" and make ridiculous statements that get everybody going...i love it!
