Good ol' 220 days? There weren't any

The analog clock in the W221 is shaped similarly to the old VDO or Kienzle models. Nissan ...... I mean "infiniti" doesn't influence or create anything or anyone.

The interior seems better constructed here than in the W220 by a sizeable margin. It is a shame about the exterior. Melted blob is now the MB design staple.

The extent of 7 series influence on this W221 is quite alarming.

I suppose that can be conjured up by saying the last "REAL" S-Class was the last Sacco inspired S. His first, the W116, and his last, the W220.

But I have no lasting respect for anything made after the '98 model year. For any car/brand for that matter.

You know...at first, when I read the posts, I thought y'all might be exaggerating a bit, when you compared the interior to a Buick. .....Then I clicked on the link. I am sad to have to say that you did not exaggerate one bit. Seems they have managed to turn the S class into an old farts car.

I don't know the exterior isn't that bad. I didn't like the W211 when I first saw spy pics and that is a stunning car. I will wait to pass judgement till I can see one in person.

exterior looks like that new CLS thing to me, like a banana. Why did they make the CLS if now the regular s-class looks just like it? That car is ugly, but nothing compares to the hideousness of the new BMWs. anyone see the M6 in motor trend? SOOOOO FUGLY!!!

Yes, unbelieveably. Somehow I find it humorous if/when they compliment any aspect of the car's styling in any positive light.

Bangle designs are the most disturbing I've ever seen. The M6 exterior looks like a cheap POS.

Pics don't do the CLS justice, it is a very sharp looking car in person. MB still makes some stunning cars, the new SL is one of the best looking SL's ever. I like it better then the R107 and R129 frankly. The new W211 looks just as good as any previous E class. The SLR is simple amazing.

Style and tastes change, chrome and square is out, round and sleek is in.

I was looking at a CL55 AMG a few months ago and wow is all I can say! Sharp looks, nice interior, big engine.

The same people who said the 140 was junk and a POS and the 126 was the last "REAL" Benz prior to the 220. Then when the 220 came out turned around and said IT was junk and a POS and the 140 was the "LAST REAL BENZ".

You just get sick of these sine waves at times. People don't know what they want. Just "retain" zero tolerance and keep the ignore feature in perspective.
