Gotta light? Mothers revenge.

Mother sets fire to daughter's rapist
By: Agencies
June 26, 2005

London: Taking the law in her own hands, a Spanish mother set afire a man who raped her teenaged daughter and allegedly taunted her about the assault, a report here said today.

The rapist Antonio Cosme Velasco Soriano, who later succumbed to injuries, had been sent to jail for nine years in 1998, but was let out on a three-day pass and returned to his home town of Benejuzar, 50 km south of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca.

While there, he passed his victim's mother in the street and allegedly taunted her about the attack. He is said to have called out: "How's your daughter?" before heading into a crowded bar, The Sunday Telegraph reported today.

Shortly after, the woman walked into the bar, poured a bottle of petrol over Soriano and lit a match. She watched as the flames engulfed him, before walking out.

The woman fled to Alicante, where she was arrested the same evening. When she appeared in court the next day in the town of Orihuela, she was cheered and clapped by a crowd, who shouted "Bravo!" and "Well done!" the newspaper reported.

A judge ordered her to be held in prison and undergo psychiatric tests, provoking anger from friends and neighbours, who have set up a petition calling for her release.

Soriano suffered 60 per cent burns in the attack on June 13 and later succumbed to injuries

Hot tempered momma. I could see Mrs Botnst doing that. Really.

Her family is locally well known for being, "...of notoriously vicious and intemperate disposition."

Bravo!

Well done!

If I ever sit on a jury for a case like this, you can bet that I'll pay more attention to what's "right" as opposed to what's "legal".

She deserves a medal, not jail.

Actually, Lorena Bobbit was a copycat. There was someone in Singapore who got his penis cut off and thrown away while he was sleeping way back before Lorena did it. Reason? He was sleeping around.

No....thats American mobsters....

Sicilians would at the very least take you out (terminate your existance)......and bury your body out in the country.....You would simply disapear. And nobody would ever find out where.

I know too many Sicilians.........native sicilians...both here and in Italy. I know their mindset.

Re: "Mother's Revenge"

Hi Guys,

LOVED reading all the creative variations on how that mother in Spain did the rapist... I frequently have wished for the "Old Testament" response to wrongs, believing that, at times, "an eye for an eye" is not necessarily a bad thing...

BTW, I'm an ER nurse and was trained as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner although I haven't solely practiced as one. Still, I've cared for numerous females - and males - of all ages that have been sexually assaulted and/or raped. There are few physical crimes that leave greater emotional pain than sexual abuse, sexual assault and rape...

Interesting that I come upon this thread after reading a thread on black powder firearms... Loved them but prefer my Model 70 Winchester 30.06 with my 3X-9X scope and synthetic stock to minimize changes in barrel accuracy with climate changes... OOPS!

Carrie
