Anyone with spinal stenosis
Had the pleasure of enduring a myelogram yesterday, and the prognosis seems to be spinal stenosis. From what I read, surgery can only be counted on as a temporary fix, then the problems will return. Exercises and therapy actually seem to have a longer effect. Anyone going through this now ?

When the doctor did the myelogram, he said, "This should take about 5 to 10 minutes." One hour later, he finished up. Had to poke my spine with 4 needles before he got any fluid. He rated me a 9 on a scale of difficulty of 1 to 10, with 10 being the worst.

I recently herniated 2 disks and found out I also have degeneration of the disk material. Exercise is the only hopeful solution. Check with a Doc, and then a PT and start down the path to daily exercise, stretching and strengthening. But get good guidance. You will come to love exercise in short order and you’ll feel better.
A really good site for health related stuff is http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/index.php? (Thank you Kerry!) Medmec can tell you a horror story of going to a chirporactor. Not to say that they are bad, but they use 2nd and 3rd tier information to base their decisions.

Back/neck pain sucks, only see a chiropractor under the direction and supervision of a orthopedic surgeon. Yes there are good ones but only about 5% so if you don't do what I'm telling you, you better be lucky. The main reason I've been on the forum so much is my neck is ****** killing me so I'm laying low.

Wanted to add that I went to a “good” chiropractor, and he did cure a problem that plagued me for about 20 years, as well as to help bring relief to the major problem at the moment. The chiropractor’s pre-procedure test was to do an X-ray of my upper spine. And while no ill has come of the chiropractor’s work, when I recently had a MRI of my spine, the doc said that an X-ray shows nothing of soft tissue problems or disk degeneration.
If you go to a chiropractor, MAKE SURE he is an MD. Don’t let your future mobility rest in the hands of 2nd rate decisions.

Am waiting for the orthopedic surgeon to return from vacation which won't be till July 15th. Want to try some exercises now but want to get the OK and direction from the Doc first. Still hurting real bad.
