Your Favorite Mercedes Feature?

I have to say that I like the way the gauge cluster pulls out of the dash without having to remove any screws. I haven't seen that on any other car.

The heated seats

Heated seats are great (then again, I have aches)

The heat is on the lumbar section and the bottom seat - juts great. Chevy heated seat is bottom only - misses the bark.

Additionally - the seats provide support during long trips.

Not the air conditioning :(

The hydropneumatic suspension :)

turbocharged 617

Runner-up -- suspension swallows speed bumps without passing the jolt to me.

First place -- I haven't met an MB with incapable brakes. Even the drum/drum W189 has good stopping power. Or maybe it's because I drive a Dodge minivan when I'm not in an MB :/

Iwould have to say, the ride! They all have an exceptionally smooth and balanced feel to them.

I appreciate the way the hood can go completely vertical. It took me 6 months of ownership to notice that feature- after I constantly banged my head and cursed their poor design (with the hood in the first low position) .

The little sun visor that fills the gap over the rear-view mirror.

I agree with this....the cars are not fast (what I have anyway) but they are comfy for the commute to work.....

#1. The arrangement of everything to accomodate eyes-on-the-road driving. Even the Becker is that way. The buttons and knobs are large enough that peripheral vision does the trick.

#1.001. The seats are perfect. I like the firmness and the various adjustments and I also like the controls.

#1.002. The very small blind spots in the mirrors and easy view of traffic with a turn of the head. I depend heavily on mirrors and peripheral vision.

#1.003. The smooth, constant acceleration to about 80 mph (w124 300E and E320). It's not jumpy anywhere and with good tires comfortably and quietly holds to the road.

#2. The star.

#6. "You have a Mercedes? Wow!" Getting less of that. Probably because of recent well-reported reliability and quality control dificiencies as compared to comparable Japanese cars. Too bad.

#17. Really cool car commercials.

Yeah, you didnt know that? There is also a dimmer feature for your dash lights. I bet you don't know about that one either ;)

I like the fact that a 15 year old car never looks out of place in the presence of other more expensive and modern vehicles.
