I currently have a 91 silver with a 93 LE (red) interior. I've been in to Miata's since 1995 and have had a "few" over the years.

mazda DID sell a three rotor luxury sedan whose name escapes me right now. its essentially a 13B with an extra housing and rotor, known as a 20B.
same engine (relatively speaking) that won le amns. |

THe cosmo engine is pretty hard to find I gather. And a real find when you do get one. |
Mazda did sell the Cosmo in the States in the early 70's.
It had a 2 rotor engine It was their flagship sedan. The oil embargo put an end to rotaries in the US around that time until the MPG was improved and the rotary 12A was available in the RX-7 in 1978. |

I was just saying they did use that name earlier I wanted one, but it was about 5,000 dollars |

I used to have a '79 RX7. It was actually one of the first 500 made. A guy I had do some work on it could tell by the engine number. Still one of my all time favorite cars. The thing fit me like a glove. I loved getting it up to about 85 on the highway. Unbelievable smooth engine-- no translation of up/down action to the driveshaft.
BTW, Mazda did sell a two-door car with a rotary engine in the early 70's. The RX-4. My brother used to auto-cross one of them that he had converted into a race car. |
My first car was a 1972 RX2 Coupe. It was on its 3rd engine when I sold it. I don't think I ever made it to 100k. When the seals would start to go, coolant would leak into the combustion chamber and I'd look like a steam powered car going down the street.
