what is it worth??
 

a friend of mine has a gold 1991 300 SEL 6cy 130K miles, everything works on car including air. Body, and interior is good. a good running car, no rust. I would rate it at a 8 out of 10. Is it worth $3K?? I looked at NADA and KBB...worth a little more. Should I go for it?

mileage? Thats your most important tool in determining value.


200,000 = $2,800-3000
150,000= $3000-3500
125,000 = $3500-4000
100,000 = $4000-4500
75,000 = $6000-6500
50,000 = $7500-8500
25,000 = $10000+

The above is just my observations, and goes for cars that are in very good condition... nearly mint in shape.

my wife has not put GAS in the 300 diesel so far..but tomorrow is another day..

I think you are right on scale with the prices, but I would only buy it if it is a GREAT deal, around $2000 + or -, I really don't need another car, but this one has been taken care of.

$3000 is a good price if you will live with it as is. If it needs front end work or a valve job or some leather repairs, etc., you'll be doubling your initial outlay for a car you don't really need.

I don't know how you feel about second gear start. I've forgotten most of what I enjoyed about my 91 300SE (not the fantastically cold R12 AC) but I still curse that second gear start.
