Talking the reason I joined this forum

Out of all the other forums for MB this had got to be my favorite. I'm a new owner, 2 weeks now, and have to say this place has it all. There seem to be real nice folks here who have a wealth of information 100 mechanics don't and the attitude to make it fun too. I found this post in the For Sale section and to be honest hope this guy doesn't come back ....

Smart ass comments are why I have avoided this forum and remained a proud supporter of the MBCA forum, where people treat each other decently and keep politics, etc. out of their personal hobby. If anyone is really interested in this vehicle, feel free to post or contact me by phone.

Come on, someone made a funny to his post (not being mean at all) and this jerk snaps back liek he his whollier than thou .... what's up with that! Owning one of these cars is fun and having a cool group like yourselves makes it that much better. Give yourselves a nice pat on the back and thanks for all the help/advise you give us newbies! .. and keep being the cool smartasses you are

btw If that whacker doesn't like this site why did he post his car for sale here. May the MB Gods striek revenge for being aloof.

I envy you the car.

Things are a lot looser here in OD than anywhere else at this website. Often when people come in here with serious car questions folks here will direct them to the approrpriate forum. OTOH, when folks come in here there is just about no telling what they'll say.

The printed, electronic medium is a real PITA. Nuance is really difficult to convey so many people use the emoticons to reinforce their message.

I guess what I'm saying is that if you tune down your offense-o-meter, cut some slack to others (at least until you know them a bit), and go to the appropriate forum for your interest, you'll really enjoy the community that you're becoming a part of. Welcome.

I trust that you realize there is more than one forum on this site.

Since you have a diesel, I'm sure you have been to the diesel discussion forum. You won't find any smart ass comments over there (almost never ) and people are very helpful with any problem that you might have.

Over here on open discussion some of your observations, are, unfortunately true. However, this forum is not for those who want assistance in repairing their vehicle.

It's for those who need to unload their mind.

Hogweed, I'm in Springfield Delco. I've seen some listings for outings and would love to make the next one. I was in Villanova the other day and passed a guy in a w123 and he gave me a thumbs up driving past .... I love that mutual appreciation thing.
As for this forum, variety is the spice of life and having a place to vent and also get serious help with your car is a wonderful thing. It's a nice balance, as long as there are seperate places to go to get what you need. Thanks for the warm welcome, I'm going to like it here.
A gallery for members would be a nice addition, to conserve bandwidth limiting size and amount of pics would be cool but everyone would be able to show a bit. Just an idea.
