Got a boat?

I've got an 11ft boat I use to run my trot line up in MD during the summer. 2hp honda outboard.

Parents still have an old ('88) 20' shamrock walk-thru. Coolest boat ever. I drive up MD and take it out whenever I get the chance. I'm a sailor first, so when I free up some funds, I'm going to buy another sailboat. Something around 22ft, performance oriented.

Any other sailors/boaters out there?

Maxum 2800. Bought it new back in '98. Cruise mostly in the upper Cheasapeake. It has been sitting the last two seasons since my divorce. Always dream about one day doing the inter-coastal thing all the way to Florida.

Most recently sold: 28' C& C (cutter rig several years ago) and a '17 Montauck Boston Whaler and a 16' hobie).

I've *got* to figure the line about selling a Bert to buy a SeaFox is a joke.

PLEASE tell me that's a joke. (Seriously!!)

Oh, and I think the Sea Hunt Triton 212 CC with a 200 is a great boat. Waaaay undervalued. The Triton 232 is what I'm after now.

Only thing better than a Sea Hunt (value wise) is a nice World Cat (If you have the cash.)

Save all the "Whalers" are the only way to go. Whalers are not what they once were. Take a ride in a Sea Hunt... save a ton of cash and the ride is sweet.

El and Bill Fiero are a couple of C-Dory owners who lead an amazing life...basically, they are a couple of nomads, cruising all over the US in their little 22 Cruiser, with an occasional adventure in Canada and Alaska. Well educated and an excellent writer, Bill has been documenting their travels since 2000, including several jaunts along the intracoastal waterway.

Here's their web site - there's some great reading and inspiration there, well worth the read if you plan on following any of the routes they've taken.

Shamrock! Another good one! Hard to run in Barnegat... but still, a great boat!

You know you're going to get soaked when trade that SeaFox in every two years. Boats depreciate MUCH faster than cars (those first 2 or 3 years are slammers)!

Why not look at a nice SeaHunt Triton 232, max out the HP on it, and keep it 10 years, after 10 years you'll still get good money for her. Yam or Etec would be nice. I'm still one of the few guys on the fence about 4strokes... but that's just me.

Not a big J22 fan. I raced them for a few years. They have the drawbacks of a big boat (can't plane, fixed keel) but can't be cruised or day-sailed. to be competitive in a fleet you have to dry sail it.

I want a Santana 525, west coast boat though, so tough to find.

The Shamrock is gas. Ford 302 motor. I've heard of some guys who dropped 454's in the 20footer. Said it was too much power for the hull shape- gets up on its keel.

Since I am still a poor college student I can't quite afford a boat yet.
But that really doesn't slow me down I try to get out in a boat at least once a day. I race Star boats on the weekends. I fish off one of my dads two boats usually, we have a nice 14ft aluminum boat for chasing bass in small lakes and 19ft bowrider for the salt.

However I have the use of:
My friends 21ft Chris Craft walk around, another friend has a new 22ft Angler center console that is very cool. The Angler has a Yamaha 225 HPDI outboard, that motor is awsome. No smoke and all the power you could want.

I also crew on a very sweet 47ft Rybovich sport fish. Todays project is cleaning up a 31ft Salt Shaker.

narwhal look for a nice little Rampage or Blackfin. You really can't get a better little battle wagon then a 28ft Rampage with a tower and a pair of Cummins.

Jim Smith makes one heck of a nice boat. This Rybo is kept mint, the bilge's are awgriped and perfectly clean and dry! Unfortuntily it blew a trans and twisted a shaft two weeks ago. It is going on week 3 on the hard, but should be splashed anyday.

One day when I am in the market for a nice sportfish I am thinking Whiticar. Some of the new ones can break 50mph!

There's a Zodiac Mark III in the garage. If I ever get the boat and the 55 Johnson in the water again, it ought to get me close to 55 mph .

Of course...I have to find a trailer first.

Recently sold my 1989 Carver 42' Aft Cabin and bought a 1988 46' Cougar US1, triple 572 ci 750HP engines.

Others still owned:
1964 17' Barron flatbottom drag boat, BBC
1969 15' Glaspar with a 1969 Johnson 85hp Electromatic, all in brand new mint condition - what a cool little boat.
Two jet skis.
