rOCKstAr INXS much?

Comments, criticism and discussion of the show here please.

Jordice was my favorite until tonight, covering Eric Clapton, yuck. I like Ty but I can't see INXS becoming Hootie and the Blowfish. Tara reminded me of Kathie Lee Gifford trying to be I don't know who. Brandon is too scary looking and Mig is too pretty.

It sure is weird for a band to be holding such public tryouts for a lead singer.

Dave Navarro looks like a mixture of freddie prince and Prince.

Being in the music business, I have a particular interest in such things, and strong opinions on the subject. You have been warned.

The whole thing is an absolute joke!!! It's rubbish.

They are tarnishing the memory of a very good vocalist and band.

It's in the same bin as American Idol and all of that crap: It is 100% $h!t.

I don't know what Dave Navarro is thinking.... He is a phenomenal guitarist, and was a member of one of the best rock bands of the past 20 years: Jane's Addiction. And now he's doing this crap. I guess everyone has a price.....

The music business has done enough things in recent years on its own to make the whole business look like a joke..... The last thing we need is help from stupid, lowest-common-denominator shows like that one.

My sentiments exactly -- this is a shocking sell-out -- it's really sad. Hmmmmm -- think I'll go watch Almost Famous.

Ditto Mike's comments.

I'm also in a band. This show makes me want to puke.

Manufacturing a star is nothing new to the industry, but it's never been so blatant or ubiquitous as it seems to be now. From image to body shape to songwriting to interview scripting - it's all prepackaged and prepared by shrewd industry machines, tailored for maximum profit.

As for Dave, well, he seems to have lost the plot. This photo further highlights his seeming descent into the depths...Slash, ok. Robbie Williams? Inexcusable.

Wow!

Dave and Slash are quite a formidable pair!!! Two amazing rock guitarists..... But who let that horrible cheeseball Robbie Williams on the stage with them?!?!

Sacrilege.

I have not the slightest idea what this thread is about, but I just wanted to give a huge big fantabulous thumbs up to the quote about Jane's--I'm a big fan!

Yeah, no kidding. It looks like a tiny venue, with the standard AmPig 810 backline setup. I'd love to know what song they were doing...

Knowing Knobbie he probably crashed the stage.

I saw Velvet Revolver earlier this year. Fantastic rock show. Seeing Slash perform live was a definite highlight. His live tone is mental. When he hits those big bends they just sustain forever. Spinal Tap would be proud.

And just so I'm not accused of thread hijacking -

'Rockstar' INXS is INXcusable.

So, I take it no one has anything positive to say? Not that I don't understand, i do, but these people they have competing, some of them seem pretty talented. No one watches long enough to see that?
