Where are Saddam's nuclear scientists?

Washington Monthly links to an article in Mother Jones saying that U.S. forces showed no interest in rounding up the scientists who formed the backbone of Saddam's WMD programs.

While our indifference to these dangerous scientists seems odd on the surface, it is certainly consistent with the view that this war never had anything to do with WMD.

Almost exactly right.

Secure the oil fields should be #1; secure means of production is #2; secure means of oil transport as #3; form a stable and amenable government of any sort, as #4; form a democratic gov (amenable or not) as #5.

According to your logic, that's how it works. But with GW's logic, he does the exact opposite.

too be honest i've been wondering the same thing, I remember an extensive radio interview with a man that described swimming pools, caves and lots of other stuff but now he's gone.

B,
Look at what GW does in Iraq. His timeline and logic, it's pretty much self explanatory.

Antiestablishmentarianism, is that still the longest word? It makes my spell checker do back flips.

Have you not read my extremely detailed, lengthy, wordy description of why I believe that securing the Middleastern oil fields is the single-most humane act that could be effected without catastrophic loss of life on a planetary scale?

I did read it once and thought it hit the nail on the head. Do you happen to have a link so I can sound smart in front of my friends?

No, darn it! I should probably write a Word doc and save it so I can just cut-n-paste the dang thing.

I'll do that and paste it here later this evening (if I can find the olives, gin, and vermouth).
