Video Security Camera recording to laptop
I am going to install a few security cameras in my store and wanted to find a program that could record to the CD on the laptop. Do you know where I can find this type of program?

I don't think any software allows for on the fly DVR type recording. The caching rate would be awkward to the CD writer. Do you have multiple USB cameras or are you planning to use CCD cameras hooked up to a breakout box and then fed into the notebook? You would have to find something that segments the video captures into say 700MB files and then store it on CD's as you go. Either way, unless there is some new technology out there that I don't know about you'll need one powerful notebook to manage all those video feeds and run the burner when you hit the limit at the same time.

The owner of the place I bartend at has a system that will do it. I'll ask him what it is and where he got it. He can watch it wherever he is-you basically log onto a website and you can download it realtime as I understand it.
