Aklim, I'm not advocating forcing people to junk their gas-guzzlers. It's everybody's choice to drive what they want. If I was at the bottom of the mpg scale, that would be my choice. And no, I don't see gas-guzzlers as the end of the world, there are people on this board whose views on this subject are much more extreme than mine.
When it comes to the economy, somebody is always going to get hurt while someone else benefits regardless of what the gas prices are doing. So what, maybe some hotel owner in a recreation area loses business while a local small shop owner gets more business as a result. Look at the forest, not just the trees. I agree with BusyBenz that too many Americans are wasteful and lazy, and higher gas prices may bring some much needed lifestyle changes. Always look at the bright side. :P |
You are right about the economy. Someone will get hurt. Hopefully we can minimize it and hurt 100 people isntead of 10000 people.
No thanx. I look on the dark side. That way, I am either expecting it or pleasantly surprised. Actually, when my glass is at the halfway mark and I didn't drink it, I don't remark that it is half full or half empty. I ask which one of you @$@%*(@#(((!s stole my beer. :D |
