Is your criticism of the fed. gov. relative to the levee reinforcement issue universal or target specific?

The FEDERAL gov. was responsible for maintaining the levees (FUNDING WISE) (majority). ACoE estimated the job @ $40M, and the BUSH administration said NO, we'll give you $2M (and then later gave another $250K)... ACoE said, there is too much to be done and the levees are in a state of peril from sinking (mostly). Bush still said NO.

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT we had the money to give BILLIONS to ISRAEL and IRAQ and AFGANISTAN.

How the hell is that right? How the hell can ANY human justify that??????? We give money away while our OWN people are left to die? We give money away while OTHER countries spend it doing research (FSC)?

Stop the crap. The blind-bush supporters know they are wrong, and lucky for the rest of us, little by little they are backing away from him.

Sorry...I pay enough taxes without paying for their roads too...thats what local and state taxes are for....instead of the lefties lining their pockets and pissing away money on things like NPR, and leftie projects everywhere they would have had money to spend where it should have been....the left needs to be far more introspective for a change...instead of pointing fingers at people who were not responsible try to look at what your party has done or more like what have they NOT done.

Interstates get the most fed $. US roads get the second most... some major local roads may get some matching funds.. minor local rds are financed by states/counties.. National road and national scenic roads get quite a bit of fed $ also.. not sure about any percentages here but i think it's 50/50 at best..

I must admit to my own commie leanings occasionally. When introspection is required for guiding prinicple, I usually discover my desire for commie benefit is based in some form of selfishness.........a charachter trait to be out grown were one to desire personal advancement.

Most Automotive union workers don't see $80k without major overtime.

How do I know....my Father retired as a Journeyman Millwright. And that is a skilled union position and never saw anywhere near that even with overtime. And without overtime he only made $45k.

Stemcell issue? It isn't clear at all becasue I see that the same way as the cureall gene thereapy was touted to be and we see where that went. which was nowhere.

Outsoursing... think about it...the fat cat and his band-O-budies rape the company and shareholders for big fat bonuses everytime they send skilled jobs overseas....they do the samewhen the company looses millions too....were is the company benifiting...how are the shareholders benifiting....the savings are being skimmed for the benifit of only one person.

Seriously I'm glad BHD is back. I find his views on national and world news interesting. I don't always agree with him but I will say that I agree with him way more than I disagree. As for the 107 post thread MedMech mentioned I would say that if the owner of this site had a Mr. Mercedesshop pageant Boneheaddoctor would be one of the five semi-finalists. I don't think the old Harley rider would fare too well in the evening gown competition though. :D
