Where you live.

Howdy All,
What appeals to you about where you live. Is it something like the view, the quite, your job, the night life?¿ Is it more than one thing?¿ Or does it just plane ol stinks and you are there because you have a job and you are just living?¿

The space. I have plenty of space for everything. However, the area I live in, there are alot of harley/motorcycles, rice rocket with big mufflers, and a friend with an alcohol powered sprint car. We do have a pretty view if you look out the windows on the back and side. We have a creek on our property, and a greenbelt behind the fence. It has a bunch of trees though so no one can look directly into my house. How bout you?

I'm up on an 1800 ft. high ridgeline less than ½ mile from a mountain range in the Sonoran desert. The front of my house looks down at roughly 100 houses scattered across the area, and the back features a 25' wide x 10' high window in the living room that faces the McDowell mountains. Needless to say, views are breathtaking from every vantage point in the home. Lots of wildlife also, and I don't mean down the street or a few blocks away. Coyotes, peccaries, bobcats, jackrabbits, packrats, hawks, ravens, vultures -- they're everywhere -- gotta love it.

Nice area, near the beach, good weather.....but mostly the lady's happy.

Howdy Ron,
The desert... You gotta love it :-) We have the same wild life except the Peccaries.

I'm in south Florida....hoping to move asap!!!!
Can't swim in a lake. Alligators
No mountains. except the Sample Rd. landfill
Can't sit on the grass.......FireAnts OWWWWWWWW!
(Actually there is no real grass...it's what is known as crabgrass is the rest of the world!)
There is no culture....(except for the Taxidermy museum)
There are beautiful women, and beaches everywhere...so that is good...
but you can't go on the beach at night, can't swim at night, (always did that in the summer in NYC)....
Always said "...If the sprinkler systems turned off here for 2 weeks , this would turn into the dessert it deserves to be!"...........

Next stop......Amsterdam; NYC; Seattle; Vancouver; or mountains of NY state.....

You gotta love it where I live. Rolling hills, running creek about 100 yds from my house, and out in the middle of the sticks. At least in the morning I can be a man and take a pee off of my back porch without some screwball calling the cops. I don't have to listen to punk kids with ricers screaming past my house all hours of the night either.

I have a creek 50 feet behind my house running through my property...a wooded lot behind me on the 450 foot property line so a tranquile view from my deck.

Far enough off the road I hear nearly no traffic from my house.

Its convienient to Washington DC...and jobs..it in a very upscale neighborhood so no lowlifes hanging out...and extremely low crime rate.

I guess we love our regions for different reasons...

I live in northern New Jersey where NYC is about 15 minutes away. I live about 15-30 minutes from the shore and we have Atlantic city casinos. I think Jersey is an awesome state if you are young because you get to do everything possible and it is only a short drive away. Yes, we even have mountains and lakes  The best part is that the largest companies in my field (finance and accounting) are right here in jersey and new york. My school is about 10 minutes away from home and I still get the dorm, sometimes sleeping at home sometimes in the dorm.

No snakes, no Hurricanes, no 115 degree heat waves, little air pollution, nice country roads, fall colors, great lakes, lots of critters, lots of woods and open ground. It gets cold but you can dress for that its nice to swim in a lake and not worry about anything eating you, even if its only 65 degrees......when its warm. the downside for drivers is we have potholes that'll swallow a 190e.

Howdy Ron,
Oh thanx!¡ You are so thoughtful LOL. The dogs would love to try to chase them but I think those little piggy's would want to "debate" that.

Golden Valley, Minnesota.

Upsides: One mile to a decent lake, XC ski, bike trails, good canoeing, close enough to the city but far enough from the parking hassles. No tax on food or clothing. Great school district, high education level in the neighborhood, free boat put-in, still relatively cheap lifetime fishing licenses.

Downsides: Bugs, ragweed/pollen, not always the cleanest air, urban sprawl, milfoil.

Yeah -- I've never seen 'em run from anything smaller than a car. They only go about fifty pounds, but I have a feeling they could give the dogs hell, especially if there's more than one of 'em.
