Cell phone headsets.

I've been experimenting with bluetooth headsets and absolutly love them. My treo 650 has crumby bluetooth range but its so nice to have a headset that will answer and activate when you make a call. I'm on the phone all day so its nice to be free of a phone glued to my head.

I just hope you're not sporting the headset out in public. The "geek" factor is still too high on the earpiece devices and the sight of someone just chatting away, apparently to themselves at first blush, just makes the pioneer of new technology more annoying. What is it about mobile communications that makes people speak louder than normal?

Guilty as charged but I try to finish my call in before grocery stores or gas stations. It maximizes my time though if I'm not on the phone were not paying the bills.

What was your excuse before bluetooth?

I don't care if I look crazy, I use an earpiece. Bluetooth is a year away at best. I just picked up a voice modulator ear bud and can't wait to unleash it. You can do the "silon" voice from old school Battlestar, or the low, muffled, "I need $1M in unmarked bills" voice. Lots of fun.
