34 Dead in nursing home, 44 Dead in Hospital

While politicians took vacations, shopped for shoes, or argued about picauny politcal points, these old, these sick, these crippled people died, surrounded by floodwaters for days. What the hell kind of country have we become?

Most disturbing quote from this article:

"Tenet spokesman Steven Campanini wrote that the hospital was told Wednesday "that we were on our own to evacuate, [and] we brought our own helicopters to take the patients out."

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/13/katrina.impact/index.html

If someone can tell me how the most powerful nation on earth, to whom I, along with my neighbors and friends, give thousands in taxes so they could build the finest military machine in history, was unable to save these people? This hurricane is a blot on our history, a shame, a national disgrace.

I agree Blanco should be charged with criminal negligence.

Thats really weird. I'm surprised you, Brian and Hattie showed up at the same GTG..

Does it happen on other sites or maybe ebay?

I've never paid attention. Maybe the same is happening with me. Naaahh...I'm not controversial enough.

Cheers,

Bill
