I'm curious about the interogative, "Where is everyone from?" I can't put my finger on it, but I think Mrs Canerday, my 7th grade English teacher, would've nailed it and given me another of her inexplicably complex rationale's for a "C".

"Where are you from?" (with the 'you' implied plural), seems inexact and misses what the thread starter wanted.

"Whence comest thou" seems a tad formal.

"Where're ya'll from" maybe too casual.

That's handsome country Kyle. My favorite thing about (most of) Canada is the everpresent lack of a crowd.

Howdy All,
The zip code I have is from somewhere else. And I don't like that place.

Ya'll is singular.

All ya'll is plural.

Don't know if it is related to the lack of preparation for Katrina, but FEMA and the state and locals here if FL are really prepared for this one.

The are National Guard troops on standby, trucks ready with MRE"S water and ice, throughout the state. The power company has brought in trucks and workers from all over.

Be safe!

I just heard that on MSNBC, and
It could be a bit of that and also that the Gov. is big brother of current President and has connections NOT to look bad if anything goes wrong....

This state is pathetic...

What, it's pathetic that they work together? Damn, I wish one of his other brothers or sisters was our governor. She who weeps on TV and gets into petulent snits and refuses to act. You can have it. Where's Edwin Edwards? He'd be having financial intimacy with the fed and they'd be kissing his a$$ for it.

"Where is everyone from"... in gramatical standards, one should not end a sentence with a preposition...

..."Where are you from, $#!thead" is a more suitable form.
