Meteorite hunting.
Anyone done/doing this ? Seems if you find a good one it's worth $2000.00 or so.
Was thinking of doing this next sping for a vaction ....where do I find them? Looked at the www sites about it and was facinated by the idea. .

I'd bet its damned hard for joe average to identify whats a meteorite and whats a rock..I'm fairly certain I could not and I've seen a lot of them at the smithsonian...

My kids did this when we lived outside of Ontario, OR (high desert). Things that looked like meteors, rocks called thunder eggs, and lightning strikes in sand (turns to glass in the shape of lightning). They would sell these for decent cash, especially the lightnig and thunder eggs.
