Sounds like capturing motion by using a stroboscopic light in a darkened studio.

Reminds me of some of Harold Edgerton's photography.

It looks like a computer age version of Liquid projection. It would make a cool concert stage backdrop.

I thought that was pretty cool, plus i got all excited when they said it was "film"...for the curmudgeon in me. Can yu imagine how small and fast those things are and to be able to capture them in motion is phenominal.

Yeah, film. It's quickly becoming a thing of the past. I saw yesterday that Polaroid will cease manufacturing instant films in 2009. Sad. I will miss it . . . .

This scientific stuff always makes me think of the braniacs trying to figure how big the universe is, as if there is a concrete wall out there somewhere. "Infinity and beyond !!!!", is a nice phrase.

Somedays, i feel like a knuckle dragger myelf. When I watch Discovery or National Geo or PBS, it just makes me think how possible the impossibilites are. Who ever thought we'd have dune buggy's on Mars or that black holes are nothing more than a dead universe?

Somewhere out there is a big chain link fence with razor wire on top of it, Pete.

It's a nice phrase, but it's only meaningful if we live in a Euclidean (flat) universe. This is unlikely.

It is possible that the curvature of the universe imposes a diameter - consider a sphere where the inhabitants can seemingly wander in a straight line forever, yet there is a diameter. It is also possible that the curvature is the other way from flat, and imposing no diameter. For this, consider not a sphere but a monkey saddle.

OK,,, so what defines the "end of the universe"? Infinity is a hard concept to understand,,, unless you are talking about the national debt,,, I just think that people don't want to admit there is such a thing. But I do know this,,, no one will ever find out in this life.
