Has anyone owned a 2002 Volvo C70 Coupe?

I am thinking of purchasing a 2002 Volvo C70 coupe and i was wondering if anyone out there has owned one or driven one. I would like to know if they are reliable? Handle well? Good power? Good fuel economy? Ergonomics ok?

Any any all feedback will be very much appreciated
Thanks

My girlfriend owns a 2000 S70......

One afternoon as I was discussing over the finer points of viewing Mars from while leaning against her Volvo car, I thought I put a permanent dent, a large one at that, in her fender!

Worried that I leaned too hard, I slowly pulled my body away from the car, and sure enough....Kaplunkt.... the large impression I left popped back out!

There is no, I repeat no place I can lean against my 87 300D that could even think on it's own of suggesting such!

I drove this car several time and I can tell you that whenever we, my girlfriend and I, go anywhere, I always say "lets go in my car" Her Volvo is laim overall to my car.

I have owned Volvo's for 20 years before owning a Benz! Volvo's are great, but they are not anyway close to our benzs..............

You have made some good points about new Volvo's. I have never driven the c70, but I imagine that I would not like it. I personally have thre 240s and they are great car. Then again, they were actaully built by Volvo and not Ford. After 1998 Volvo stopped making RWD cars. This is where they really shot them selves in the foot. The new Volvo's today are mearly rebadged fords, and mazdas. So, with that I would not a touch a new Volvo. Good luck and happy bricking.

Run The Hell Away!!!!!!!

I can tell you first hand that the electronics on that car as well as the S80 SUCK!!!!! Many many problems...it seems like there is a new software update every 3 weeks, that only can be done by the VADIS (Volvo Aftermarket Diagnostic Information System), Run Run Run!!!!

Family member has a 2001 v70 Cross Country wagon. Been just ok. At 90k, has lots of rattles, squeaks and an infuriating habit of burning through external lightbulbs every six weeks. Dealer service / parts are expensive and a proprietary oil filter design ensures you'll be doing your oil changes with them. 4wd is nice in the snow and rain, however. If it's the 5-cylinder, normally aspirated motor it's a little wheezy... Keep shopping.
