Drivers side door lock
Hello everyone have not posted in a while because I don't drive much anymore. I have graduated college and I am now an IT consultant and travel Monday- Friday. But this weekend I am doing some work on the 300E. My ignition tumbler stopped working. Thanks to you guys I finally got the key in the 1 position and it was an easy fix.
While in college someone tried to break into my car three Thanksgivings ago and screwed up the drivers side door lock. I have to unlock the car from the trunk. It is very annoying. I was wondering if it is possible to transfer the lock from the passenger side to the drivers side door handle. I know this is a far stretch but just wondering can it be done. If not I will see which one is a better option replacing the drivers side door lock or DIY keyless entry. Once again thank you in advance.

The doorlock on the driver's side of my E-320 just broke too. My mechanic did say it's possible to transfer the lock over, but it's apparantly not easy and may not work. I'd think about the labor cost vs. the chance that it doesn't work and weigh your options.
BTW, a new lock runs about $200 for our cars.
