Vancouver Storm Picture

With all the news on TV about the hurricanes and destruction that the East Coast of the US is experiencing and the mud slides in the Middle East and South America and floods in Haiti, along with the dire predictions made by such films as The Day After Tomorrow, we shouldn't forget that Canada has it's share of devastating weather too. I've attached a photo illustrating the damage caused to a friend's home from a storm that passed through Vancouver a couple of days ago. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things for granted.

Take care of yourself and be safe ... http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a332/SleeplessMBfan/vancouverstormpic.jpg

Howdy Kyle,
Tell your friend I feel his pain. Here in the Mojave desert I had the same exact thing happen when a big dust devil came through. No pix!¡ I was just toooo devistated by the incident.

Hey Kyle...

I sure hope the person that was sitting on the chair is OK Those cedar decks can be pretty hard. The weather here is very mild year round. Funny post and yes, here in Vancouver, the last devastating weather distubance was Typhoon Freda back in 1962. I worked at the Vancouver Golf Club on the grounds crew (not then, I'm 33) and was told stories from some of the old timers there that you could walk across the back nine on trees, never touching the ground One thing though Kyle, we could get a devastating earthquake that could level half the city and surprise the heck out of us laid-back Vancouverites! You would be OK in Mission I think. If that happens, it's nice to know that our global community and neighbors would be there to help Cheers!

Shaun

We had quite a blow come through here a little while back. It was so bad I had to use my wiper (I only have one) and ended up having to wash my car I should have gotten insurance coverage.
