Exclamation Cooper Classic cars NYC- BAD Rap! STAY AWAY

If anyone from Cooper Classic cars NYC contacts you to use your car in a photo shoot, stay away!!! I had such a bad experience with them and they are all hustlers! I had an agreement to be paid $1000 for the shoot and all I got was $500 and accused of Black Male which is totally Bull****! STAY AWAY FROM COOPER CLASSIC CARS NYC!!!!!!!! I am now going to file a law suit against them and let them get what they deserve

Surely society has evolved to the point where being a Black Male carries no stigma, especially in NYC!

I will not deal with this racist organization!

Apparently some forum members lack a sense of sarcasm and irony.

they contacted me since they had a client who saw my car and wanted to use it. Verbally said but I had my Wife and Son next to me the night he said he will pay me $1000 over speaker phone and the next day when I asked him again if he will really pay me $1000 in person. This guy now gives me crap that he is a "big" figure in the business and that I will surely lose in court with his so called "people" he knows. And that he feels that $500 is good enough since I just sat around all day. I told him to go F*** himself and meet me in court. What he doesnt know is that my lawyer of whom I will bring, use to be the DA at the court I will be attending so my lawyer practically knows all the judges and civil workers there. he will turn the case around even if the verdict of the judge is not for me! he will get what he deserves

I got BOTH jokes...but with THIS crowd, it doesn't take much for a tongue-in-cheek post to turn a thread from friendly to a flamefest!

Bringing a lawyer to small claims court? Generally, you don't get atty fees awarded there . . . so is this "suit" for the principle of the matter?

Of course, but since the rules of procedure and evidence are so relaxed in small claims, bringing an attorney is typically a disadvantage. First, it telegraphs to the court that you've got enough dough to hire a lawyer so there goes any sympathy that you're just a dupe; second, the lawyer just slows down the proceedings which the court just loves; third, the lawyer is basically just loitering while the small claims judge asks the questions; and finally, the "American rule" is that parties in a civil action don't get atty fees unless there's a statute or contract that provides for it. So, tell me again what the advantage is to having a suit stand next to you in small claims?

particularly since you are paying him big bucks by the hour to sit there.............my understanding was only the involved parties are allowed to argue their case in small claims court....attournies can't speak...
