maybe the garbage stealer is a disgruntled neighbor and aspiring identity theif....looking for discarded Credit card applications or those checks some send....there are fools that don't shred those still around...

The plant thieves? I'd get infared cmaeras (cheap on ebay) to a vcr...try to catch who or what is doing it.

Just make sure anything with your mane and address is shredded before going in the trash.........I don't have that problem with neighbors here...but who knows what hangs out at landfills..etc....

Bingo. And the police ought to take that seriously (whether you really think that's what's happening or not). It wouldn't hurt to see if they might offer to make a few extra, very slow passes by your house on their eveing patrol. Might give the perpetrator pause for thought if he sees them.

Good luck!

With any luck, the idiot will make a salad out of the oleanders and the problem will go away all by itself.

Thanks for all the replies. I am boiling mad right now. I came home late last night and this morning I noticed that written on the fence in black permanent marker where the plants used to be was "WUZ UP ???". Seems like whoever is doing this is trying to taunt me. Like I sais before, this has been escalating for the last two years. Ever since someone bought the lot next door. I get along well with all the neighbors, except for the people who own the lot next door. They have left raging debris fires burning at night and I have called the fire dept to put them out after I tried with the garden hose. Turns out they were down the street at the in-laws house. I actually have never had words with them(good or bad). I wonder what's next. Thanks again.

Well, these people are pretty strange. The guys wife is a ex girlfriend of a guy I used to work with. She poured a GALLON of brake fluid on his cars after he broke up with her. Her husband is probably a loon also. I should have bought the lot next door and split it with my other neighbor. Now it's used as a party spot. Great.

It might also be the dentist who lives next door who told me to turn off my floodlights at night because the light shone into his curtainless upstairs bedroom. Mind you, all the lots on the street are one acre, and there is plenty of room between houses. I put low wattage bulbs in the floodlights and he still complained. The reason I started using the light was because of this problem. Other people here use them also. Of course, I listened politly and didn't say anyhing about his two dogs pooping in my yard every day. They don't allow the dog's onto their manicured lawn.

get video cameras...the infared type that work in low light...and a security time lapse VCR...BJ's and Costco have them...they are easy to find n Ebay too.

Prove who it is then you can presecute..AND get a restraining order.....which if they violate will have them playing catcher for the prison buttpirates.

Bone--If he has two extra bedrooms I would suggest that he invite you and me to stay at his place. I think between the two of us we could have a riot with his garbage thief and if his neighbor doesn't like his floodlights we could tune up two Harleys with straight pipes at midnight.

You live on a lake right? Pretty big? Buy some large and very cool guns Ak-47, M-16, and maybe some sort of .50 rifle. Then at 6am in the morning shoot at targets on the lake while in some sort of costume.(big bird maybe?) If they think you are really nuts and armed they won't mess with you.

Or is their a local college? Have a party, offer free beer and lots off it. Throw in a DJ and that should draw 1k people. Do that a few times and they will go nuts.

I've been known to do that to neighbors who ticked me off.......

The Bone is right on the money, infrared activated cameras are the way to go.

I have been victimised by persons "unknown" who have invaded my purlieu and inflicted minor but annoying damage to my cars.

An infrared activated digicam soon revealed the offender who crept in at generally 2 in the morning and sliced the sidewalls of my tires{impossible to repair}

When confronted with the proof this "friend" initially denied this but eventually broke down and owned up,a real jealous mentalcase.

Joke's on him since he was recently evicted from his rental house and is currently sponging off the few acquaintances left.

LOL, how bout throwing in the diesel tractor also?

Actually, I have a Sporty with straight pipes. I left the pipes on it when I bought it because the floodlight hater screamed at me because my VW was too loud when I came home at 8.00 p.m. after having the motor rebuilt and it stalled in front of his house. My other neighbor(cool dude) rides a Big Dog custom with a 131 ci S&S motor. His bike is music to my ears when he fires it up every morning and rides down the street real slow.
