There is a very simplistic rotary at the Jackson Airport entry - way to complicated for Mississippi folks With this being the only major airport in the state there are a lot of people from the country flying out. You can see the look on there face when they hit it. WTF

Hmmm, I think it makes sense now that I realize that people are driving on the other side of the road on this one.
Put it Florida then put a thunderstorm on top of it. Darwinism at its finest.

Whoever designed it definitely doesn't work for the insurance companies.
Looks like a Dyson vaccum cleaner. |

Ok now I have it figured out.
You're supposed to crash into on-comming traffic in the bulls eyes.

I have not been to England for a while but I always thought that round-abouts were one directional. I do not understand why they have trafic going both ways. Seems like an invitation for trouble. Also, the inside lane seems like a waste. If it were me, I would take the long way around and take the out side lane to make a left instead of taking the inside and having to wait for on comming trafic to make a right turn.
Other than that, it's perfect.

Washington D.C. is full of roundabouts. Dupont Circle is a tough one but not as bad as the one pictured.

I dunno, doesn't look to me like they're going both directions. One thing that puzzles me, the parking spots in the little pockets wouldn't appeal to me too much. Long ways from anything, you have to wade through traffic to get in or out, and you're leaving your rig in the middle of a veritable malestrom of vehicular motion. I don' know, boss, I'm a gettin' seasick....

Nested roundabouts, cool! It's five little roundabouts which together comprise one large roundabout. That's why traffic flows both directions.
One of the few roundabouts in N. Texas is behind my office in Richardson. It's not very complex, there are only three roads coming together. I see people driving around it the wrong direction on a regular basis. Amazing. - JimY |

Yep, there's a roundie-round in West Fort Worth. I am always amazed when I get out of there without having a wreck. It's almost as bad as a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Personnaly I wish we had more roundabouts in this country. I was in a class the other day that asked what the similarity was between traffic pattern study and fluid dynamics. Turns out one is used a lot to study the other. I think more roundabouts would decrease traffic in many cases. Granted, maybe not in SoCal - these folks coulnd't handle it.
