Online sources for Plasma TV's///

Anyone know any good ones?

I wanna buy a 42" now that Papa moved in and have less space.

BJ' s has a 42" Panasonic for 1699. The Philps same size is 2399.00

I would love to stay in the 1500.0 range if possible, but will spend a bit more.

Thanks

I've been looking at the same stuff lately for my kitchen remodel. LCD flat screens seem to cost just about as much.

Not an online source, but I purchased a Maxent 42" plasma at Best Buy last summer for $1499. No shipping and handling to deal with.

I needed one that had speaker-level outputs...the room was pre-wired for external speakers and the old NEC monitor that I replaced had them as well.

The TV chassis BARELY squeezes in the built-in space that was originally designed for the analog versions...I had to touch up the paint on the adjacent walls after I shoved that unit in the nook!

I've decided that the 42" will be a bit too much for the wall I plan on putting it on. I will drop down to the next size which will be a lot closer to the $$$ I want to spend.

Are they that affordable now? I had no clue, maybe it's time to get one.

What's the difference between a TV and a display? When it's advertised as a display does it mean it's a computer monitor?

A HD display/monitor often has no tuner. Most do have tuners now.

Fine line these days as I've seen both advertised on units with and w/o tuners.

My Maxent was advertised as a plasma display (and said so on the box), but it is equipped with a tuner AND speaker level output. Didn't come with speakers though.

Actually, I am looking at getting an LCD for my computer that accepts the RS232 port, as they are far cheaper than the flat panel PC monitors...

At my local Best Buy, they will match the larger online websites. they have to verify it though, and they do it right from Customer Service. We got a 60 or70 somethin inch plasma at Best Buy, and they matched the online price of it. If you do decide to buy online, go to like crutchfield.com, bestbuy.com, circuitcity.com, or one of the other big ones.

Although, I was just in the store and I realized the only good way to do it is to go to the actual store and look at all of the pictures. We have a Mitsubishi Diamond, and it was the BEST tv you could buy that year. It has the best quality picture, and it had all of the best features. Well, we went to go TV shopping when we got the plasma, and they had the Diamond and a Sony Wega next to each other. The Sony blew the Mitsubishi away in all aspects. You really need to look at the TVs in person, as one may suit you better than another.

Oh, and when did 1080P come out? I am up on alll of this sort of stuff, but I didn't know about 1080p. I thought that highest was still 1080i.

Which size did you get? I'm looking at the 61" Samsung 1080P DLP. Probably have to get a new DVD player as well.

My LCD HDTV says that Discovery HD is broadcast in 1920 X 1080 AKA 1080P on Directv. No other channels come in as 1920 X 1080.
