Ya, guns are doing lots of "defending"--everywhere. One certainly can't defend oneself without a gun, that's for sure. Why, I was just defending myself the other day, and thought "I sure wish I had a gun". But alas, my gun was elsewhere, and I lost that argument. We have mass transit. There's really no need for individuals to own cars. They're just too dangerous. Driving should be left in the hands of professionals. That's what the government is there for.
