Elbow pain

I've been doing alot of wrenching lately and I think I may have stressed something in/near myelbows. I was pulling on some seized lug nuts (finally broke them free with a 1/2 drive and 5' piece of pipe for an extension on my breaker bar. I have constant elbow paion which is exacerbated with extension and also any sort of grpping/pinching. My right arm (I'm right handed) is slightly worse but the pain/discomfort is in both elbows.

I'm going to see a Dr. but wanted to here any thoughts you folks might have to offer. I'm currently thinking laterial epicondylitis..........BUGGER!

Yep, you got it. Did the same thing in my late 40's when I used a 4' pry bar to remove dozens of big nails out of very old hard roof rafters. Pain lasted for a long time--over 8 months. Finally knocked it out with a brace, ice and continual high doses of Naproxen.
Second time it happened, it took a steroid shot to get rid of it.
If I were you I'd be taking high doses of Ibuprofen every 4 hrs (600mg or so) every 4 hrs for at least 3 or 4 days to combat it. Ice it frequently.
But, remember, don't get medical advice from a Mercedes forum.

One consequence of my experience is that I don't swing long handled hammers anymore and I use my legs and not arms on tight nuts.

Well it could be worse, the wife BROKE her elbow last weekend.

Although actually a soft tissue type injury tends to ache a lot longer.
Broken bones aren't all that painful, they do ache though. I've got / had enough broken bones, pulls, strains etc. I've abused this poor old bod way too much over the years.

They'll probably start with some therapy, most times I go learn the exercises/rules and skip it.

Then RELIGIOUSLY do the exercises etc. as instructed.

And don't stop when it feels better, keep doing them for a while longer.

Observations over time:

In your;
20's.. you are invincible
30's.. you get sore for a day, maybe two
40's.. you can hurt yourself while you are asleep
50's.. you can hurt yourself watching someone else sleep

I don't know about the rest yet!!!

Look at that, you could have saved the co-pay. Who says motorheads can't diagnose bodies as well as machines.
