Exclamation Holiday Deviations?

Anybody have or doing any fresh ideas for the holidays? Okay its November 14th, shortly we will be reminded on how many days to Christmas. I am starting to get a bah humbug attitude. Kids are older so Santa’s not an issue, feel fairly certain it’s not going to snow. Is anyone planning a deviation from the norm? Looking for ideas.

From Seinfeld?

I live with teenagers - we have the airing of grievances weekly!

Seinfeld is the only reason I regret having given up watching television

Perhaps examine why the "bah humbug" has arrived. For many it is the blatant commericalism (A Charlie Brown Christmas Syndrome) and focus on gifting. A potent cure for that is to engage in volunteerism for part of the holiday, such as offering to aid in charitable efforts. It would be even more rewarding if the offer was made to organizations for help after the holidays, since they tend to have more than enough hands at that time of year. Like church/temple attendance during the high holy days . . . charities also get hit with a seasonal rush of volunteers.

I think we are all tired. Volunteer work is great, but I must honestly say we are volunteered out this year – all of us. Guess we need that break to the mystery place for that undetermined event.

We have discussed the Keys and even the Bay Area. The door was never closed, just left on the table.

Howdy TX,
Not new. Depending on what days I get off work those are the days I take my dogs running.

We're taking Amtrack to San Francisco and staying a week. Winter train trip thru the Rockes and Sierras sounded interesting to us.
The house swap we had set up with the couple if Wales from the BenzWorld forum fell thru when he switched jobs.

Maybe if we're lucky, TBS will run "Christmas with the Apes" again. I still have fond memories of the Planet of the Apes Marathon Christmas Day from back in 1999. Of course, "Christmas with the Duke" was also a good Christmas too.

Got to love TSA
A few weeks ago bought two one-way tickets to STL at the counter 1 hour before the flight paid cash and had only carry on bag. My friend is from Spain and his english is ah.... well....not good. I had $15K in cash he had a money clip that had a small pen knife (he didn't even know it had a knife). What a fiasco.

Unhappy

Well; I came back from Amsterdam after going there on a standby from MartinAir, and the little bastard had me escorted to a basement level private room for a more thorough search........No I kept my pants on , but they went through sneakers, and everything in the carryon.......What idiots....If I was going to I could have smuggled stuff still.....But I don't.
