As I wasn't watching CNN and have no clue who Anderson is would you elaborate on the indigo children thing. My boys get that way plus other colors when they fingerpaint, but my guess is that isn't what you're talking about.

If you want to read more about Indigo children read some of the publications from the people who keep Edgar Cayce's writings archived. They call their organization Association For Reasearch and Enlightenment. I've read about the Indigo children and I don't see anythhing so special about today's children that make them different from those of years ago. If anything today's kids need a good spanking more than anything else.

Are "Indigo" children the illegitimate offspring of "Blue Man group" groupies?

If it gains popularity, there will be many parents complaing about their ****ed up kids to principals stating, "you don't understand my child--he's an indigo child, and can't learn by repetition, ectt...."

You could apply the Indigo child factors to any child--it is not an earth shattering revalation. Again, my take is that it is an excuse.
I agree Nar. That's why I said there is nothing special about kids now versus then. They just need some good discipline. Now they are talking about a new generation called Crystal Children. I wonder what excusses they will have for these kids.

Cool

After reading some on the websites for this, I would pretty much agree with both of you JRB & Nar...; it's tied to new age, and the evaluation seems to apply to my kid (17) and a high % of others.
But the piece on Anderson Cooper 360 was a bit more deteailed.....They interviewed a GI doc who was in practice since '69 and he felt kids are different recently in alot of ways than kids were 20-30 years ago....
And a girl they focused on was about 18 or so, and insists she sees angels and gets visited by deceased relatives.....and saying other Indigo kids have these same sensitivities.....
btw They are called this because their auras are dominant colored of Indigo....which indicates higher spiituality......
IMO
Definitly unusual soundiing stuff, but not any more than people who claim to have seen UFO's.........

Life is way to good and easy if people have time to make up excuses for their failing kids like this.

Oh, good grief! I have an acquaintance who was once a potential love interest (until I started listening carefully to her litany of excuses and whining) who used this "indigo children" defense as to why she couldn't do anything about her (to her, terrible) life.

I got my Dr. Phil on! I commented that she had already experienced the biggest problem in my life: the A/C in the 300SD doesn't currently work. And that's it.

The young lady in question: 21, encyclopdeic vocabulary, multilingual, far above average-looking, excellent health, no debts. THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER! Quit *****ing about how your (homeless) ex-boyfriend won't take you back, about how your boss at the restaurant is an ogre, about how long it takes to ride the bus to work...etc. etc., and make a list, check it twice, and start changing the things you're not happy with.

I concluded by telling her to move out of the world of mild hallucinations and imaginary problems and step into the real world, which may be much more uneventful, but the majority of us share common experiences within it, and it's all there is.

More cop-outs for people who are intentionally dysfunctional. And I'm a liberal, for pete's sake!

I recommend an outward bound style boot camp.....for both the kids and the sick puppy parents....but not at the same time...

A dose of reality therapy is overdue for them.

OK i'll bite... I googles indigo children and dug up this list on how to tell if your kid is one...
1. Did your child come into the world acting like royalty?
2. Does your child have a feeling of deserving to be here?
3. Does your child have an obvious sense of self?
4. Does your child have difficulty with discipline and authority?
5. Does your child refuse to do certain things they are told to do?
6. Is waiting in lines torture for your child?
7. Is your child frustrated by ritual-oriented systems that require little creativity?
8. Does your child see better ways of doing thing at home and at school?
9. Is your child a nonconformist?
10. Does your child refuse to respond to guilt trips?
11. Does your child get bored rather easily with assigned tasks?
12. Does your child display symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder?
13. Is your child particularly creative?
14. Does your child display intuition?
15. Does your child have strong empathy for others?
16. Did your child develop abstract thinking very early?
17. Is your child very intelligent?
18. Is your child very talented (may be identified as gifted)?
19. Does your child seem be a daydreamer?
20. Does your child have very old, deep, wise looking eyes?
21. Does your child have spiritual intelligence?
If you have more than 10 yes answers, he or she probably is an Indigo. If more than 15, almost definitely.

I'll go ahead and break this down into two posts... I will address the "smyptoms" in my next post

1. Did your child come into the world acting like royalty?
Your child is stuck up mainly because of you, and the enviorment you placed them in
2. Does your child have a feeling of deserving to be here?
Ignorance
3. Does your child have an obvious sense of self?
ummmm..... what?
4. Does your child have difficulty with discipline and authority?
They do "bad" things, and think that theyre either not bad, or do not respect authority figures... Again I blame the parents and the enviorment theyre placed in
5. Does your child refuse to do certain things they are told to do?
They are lazy, and dont respect whoevers telling them to do things
6. Is waiting in lines torture for your child?
They're impacient, because of THE PARENTS
7. Is your child frustrated by ritual-oriented systems that require little creativity?

8. Does your child see better ways of doing thing at home and at school?

10. Does your child refuse to respond to guilt trips?
They hate you, dont care about you, or dont understand them
11. Does your child get bored rather easily with assigned tasks?
They cant focus, and are most likely distracting to others around them

They HAVE ADD, and require treatment... PARENTS WHO DONT TREAT THEIR KIDS WITH THIS, THEYRE REALLY DISTRACTING IN CLASS... which disrupts MY learning experiance

Good, if in the right ways

Good, again depending on the situation
15. Does your child have strong empathy for others?
Cool, they get others
16. Did your child develop abstract thinking very early?
Theyre abstract/wierd
17. Is your child very intelligent?

20. Does your child have very old, deep, wise looking eyes?
Everybodys different for god sakes
21. Does your child have spiritual intelligence?

www.metagifted.org/topics/metagifted/indigo/ is where I got this freekin list from...

IMHO the kids need to be disiplened more, because the parents dont do ****... YES i blame the parents... For theese indigo children, and druggies, and children who do "bad" things... I think the media has turned alot of parents into *****wuped pathetcic beings, who cannot disiplen their kids for fear of "child abuse".

Some kids just need an ass kicking from time to time... INCLUDING MYSELF...

I am also a very impersonal 15 year old, so please feel free to ridicule me in any way you see fit...
