Mine too! But I also had the stereo cranked to ZZ Top. I used to get mentally prepared to ride my Harley by listening to ZZ's LaGrange or Ted's Great White Buffallo.

I graduated in 1979....and got my Harley in 1983.....so I was still in high school during the early part of the Disco era.

I saw him perform Great White Buffalo live in Bismarck. Totally blew my mind. A master guitar player and master showman. Gun rights activist and NRA member. Need I say more?

Bee Gees? I've still got a DISCO SUCKS T-shirt.

I listened (and still do) to Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Zep, Uriah Heep, Forigner, ZZ Top, The Nuge, Pentagram, Budgie, Sir Lord Baltimore, Atomic Rooster, Thin Lizzy, The Sweet, AC/DC, UFO, Motorhead, Cirith Ungol, Catus, Captain Beyond, Josefus, Blue Cheer, Vanilla Fudge, Hawkwind, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Gillan, Judas Priest, The Scorps, Angel Witch, Saxon, Nazarath, RicK Derringer, Pink Floyd, Head East, Cheap Trick, Bad Company, Queen, Angel, Slade, AMulet, Aerosmith, Armaggedon, Crack, Bullangus, Picture, Poobah. Ursa Major, Winterhawk, Elf, Finnforrest, Poobah, Made, November, Necromandus, Leafhound, and 100s more. I LOVE 70s hard rock/metal.

For some reason, in the 90s people forgot how to play their instruments...

Ted ... live

I lived in Augusta GA in about '80. A hard core station there took over a top-40 bubble gum station. Every morning they had the "dreaded morning oldie".. something like "Sugar Sugar". They would play about 30 seconds then crash / boom / scratch / break and the announcer would say "you'll never hear that crap here again". Then they would go to the live version of Ted doing the Wango Tango. Oh those old brain cells...

About that same time my inlaws were visiting. I had the radio on low and not paying attention until I knew what the next verse was... I forget the song but the words live on "that feeling you can't erase until she's sitting on your F*ce"... I got the radio button in time. Whew.

I don't know, I LOVE old country as well and it surely beats rap and this stuff they pass of as R&B now.

Then again, the same can be said for what they pass off as rock and country now as well...

I had a young woman working for me for several years that loved disco. After several years of listening to, "Polyester Power Hour" I can safely say that my previous lack of appreciation for disco was well-justified.

MM, the Bee Gees are one of those groups that are underappreciated. They have some classics. If you can get past the Saturday night Fever songs, you can really appreciate them.

As far as music goes, I love old R&B(temptations, anything Motown, Ray Charles, etc..) In the early 90's I used to say that Boyz to men were a cheap R&B wanna be. Now in 2005, the singers are so bad, that they actually sound good to me in comparison.

From a musician's point of view, the mid-70's to 80's were the dark days for guitarists and most drummers and marked the rise of the synth and keyboard guys. All the bass guys I knew had to learn to "slap and pop" till they were slap happy.
