I would stop driving my car at $4/gal, my bike at some point after $5. Even at 65mpg, it stops becoming worth it.

Nahh, just haven't been here much. I just got teh 1N74rN3T at the house again, so i might be around more.

Currently, I drive a bus for the local Univeristy. I was an OTR truck driver, but I wasn't getting enough miles to make it worth it. If I don't put miles behind me, I ain't getting enough cash to make it worth it.

Are you still defending the hearth & home against liberal lunacy, or do you just taunt them for fun now?

Do a search for Prius Taxi Vancouver Canada. There's more info than you'll want to read on that search. Toyota even bought the car back to dismantle it so they could see how the system held up. The car was still running fine when it was retired.

Wish I had room to cut and paste that last sentence into my growing self-description.

My kids are leaving home and my income is increasing, I have two Benzes running and my orange trees are loaded. Life could be worse.

He also said the people would go to the bars more after they became smoke free. See Tailgators sign on East Washington lately where they asked the mayor where the increased number of customers are?

Are you sure that he isn't talking taxis? Hybrids make the case in taxi service, since their strong point is where taxi's are at their very worst. Hybrids would do some service, and are already for state fleets in some environments. The postal service would even stand to benefit from using hybrids in mail routes. As for patrol cars, you are quite correct that at current, hybrids would not be up to the task of patrol duty. They are going to have to make further advances in battery denisty (they are on the way), before they'll be able to provide adequate boost for pursuit scenarios.

everyone pays roughly the same for gas ....what varies is the taxes you pay on that gallon. And thats where the bloodsuckers in Europe tax the people to death to support their socialist entitlement programs.

Yep, the first 16 places on the *****list are taken by European countries. Congrats Europe - that's a total win! Then they're wondering why economy sucks big time.... LOL
"How much a gallon before you quit driving?" This question was asked in a survey in Europe. 2/3 of the people in Austria said they would not change their driving habits until gas prices rise up to 3 Euros per LITER.
